Next week, Facebook will finally roll out its latest interface that is the so-called “Timeline” that maps out each member’s profile as a series of chronological events. Timeline is a big project announced by Zuckemberg himself at the last f8 conference in September, that will attempt to renew interest to Facebook’s 800 million subscribers.
Timeline is a big upgrade to your profile, featuring a large open space with a large unique image called “Cover”. Then, the main profile comes along, called stories – that present events you have selected in order to describe best what you have been up with the latest months. Finally, you can choose which app will share events and information about your activity in your profile in the “Apps” section.
The idea is lovely – on the right hand side of the screen the viewer of your profile can select through the past years and the timeline changes with the events that you have selected. The interface seems really nice but… would you give to the digital album of facebook all these details? I don’t think I would.
